- Help
- ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- You MUST use the INSTALL program to install "Plethora" correctly!
- You can install from a floppy drive or a hard drive.
-
- Make sure the RUN TIME module: BRUN45.EXE is somewhere on your
- PATH command. Your PATH command is in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
-
- Plethora will copy the file BRUN45.EXE to your DOS directory if
- it exists, which SHOULD be on your PATH command. If your DOS
- directory is called MSDOS, or PCDOS, or anything else, then copy
- the file into that directory, chances are it's on your PATH.
-
- If you get the ERROR: RUN-TIME MODULE NOT FOUND... then it's NOT
- on your PATH command!
-
- Note: Some programs modify the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and place a
- second PATH command in it for their program. Make sure
- the second PATH command doesn't conflict with the first.
- In fact, add the second command, to the first PATH command.
- (see your DOS manual on how to do this).
-
-
- Mouse
- ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- If the Mouse doesn't work right, make sure the cable is secure.
- Try getting the latest driver from your mouse supplier.
- Try setting the mouse rate under <System>.
- Try using Microsoft's latest driver with your mouse (back-up your
- mouse software first).
-
- You can find the drivers on most local BBS's, CompuServe, America
- Online, Internet, or call Microsoft's BBS (1-208-936-6735).
-
-
- No Extended/Expanded memory.. but you have upper memory!
- ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- The reason it doesn't show up on the memory bar, is because you're
- using a memory manager that doesn't convert it to them. Instead,
- it's converting your upper memory to XMS memory. Look under <Sytem>,
- chances are it's listed as XMS memory.
-
- Use the Extended/Expanded option in your memory software.
- It doesn't have one.. then get one that does! QEMM or 386Max are
- two that do.
-
-
- Modem
- ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- Address Book
- ------------
- Turn on external modem.
- Make sure you clicked on SETUP, and setup the modem for your system
- before you try to DIAL out.
- The BAUD rate really doesn't matter here because all it does is
- dial the phone.
- Make sure you're on the right COMM PORT (1-4).
- Make sure the number is entered correctly.
- Check the modem cable and make sure it's plugged in right.
- If using PAUSE, make sure you entered the correct dial out number.
- In PAUSE, add commas after PAUSE number to delay dial out connection.
- If using a sharing device, connect second phone to the phone out plug.
-
- LaunchComm
- ----------
- Use the SETUP options first, then try to dial out.
- Change the initialization string to your modem settings (see your
- modems manual).
- From the terminal screen, type: AT do you get the OK responce?
- If you do, then the problem is proberly the initialization string.
- If you don't get OK, then the modem is not responding! or the comm
- port is set wrong. See BBS.DOC

- ───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
- If you get funny characters on your screen while running Plethora..

- a Trident is beyond us... go figure!
-
-
- Requirements
